Fender Bender Chapter 6

Janet was the closet thing that Gary had ever had to a girl friend. She was his Internet girl friend. They had never met and he had only talked to her a couple of times on the phone. She lived in California and we live in North Carolina.

Gary told me the story about how she had met someone local and thought it was best if they "broke up" so he could find someone closer.

Without thinking I put my hand on his arm and told him that he would find someone and not to give up hope. He smiled at me.

Gary then told me how on top of everything he had gotten fired from his part-time job and that his Mom was on his case. We talked for several minutes and then my cell phone rang, it was Mom telling me that supper was ready and I needed to come home.

I told Gary I had to go but that I was glad that we were working out our problems and that we were still friends, he smiled and said he was glad also. We agreed to get together later in the week and play video games like we always did. ______________________________________________________________

A couple of days later Gary called and invited me over. When I got there His mom let me in and asked where I had been since she had not seen me in a while.

I really didn't know what to say so I just mumbled something about being busy while my parents were out of town. She yelled for Gary to come down stairs and then apologized that she was in such a hurry. She was taking Gary's younger sister to the mall across town.

After Gary came down we decided to go outside and play basketball. We had been shooting around for almost thirty minutes when the sky grew dark and it started thundering in the distance. We headed back inside.

Later We were in his room playing a video game in which we were killing aliens and I noticed that Gary kept glancing at me then looking away. Finally I caught him staring. I asked him what he was looking at.

He blushed and then started apologizing. He said he could not help it but he guess from now on that when he saw me he would wonder if I was wearing panties.
